Review…..Courage to Love by Pavan Kaur

courage to love

Does Scarlett have the courage to fight for their love………

I have been waiting so long for this book to be released the perfect ending to a fantastic series. At the end of book 2 in the series Courage to Fight Rhett leaves to return to London and gives Scarlett three flight tickets in hope that she would use one and come to him in London and give him a chance to show her his demons. So with all the anticpation of will she go or will she walk away from Rhett we know by now that Scarlett goes to London and this book takes us on that journey.

Rhett cannot believe that she is in London and is determined this time to make things right with her. Scarlett on the other hand wants to give him time to talk but is scared that he won’t like before. We see a different Rhett and Scarlett here in book 3 they are more developed as a couple and things are definitely on a more serious key with them. Rhett loves Scarlett so much and all he really wants is to make her happy but is scared that when she learns of his demons that she will run the other direction….

In this book we get a real insight in to the other characters that will play a big part in Scarlett and Rhetts life. This shows the support this couple has and how although Scarlett grew up with a foster family she has now gained people in her life who she can call family. We see Scarlett spending alot of time with Rhett’s mother while Rhett trains for his fight and we can read how a true friendship forms quickly out of pure respect for each other and an openess to get to know each other.

Rhett promises Scarlett that he will show her his demons after the fight which is taking place on New Years Eve as he wants them to start a new year together with nothing hidden between them, a fresh start. Scarlett has met some of his demons already and she has already made up her mind that they can work through whatever it is but poor Rhett doesn’t know this. After the fight Rhett takes Scarlett to the place where his demon lies and his revelation breaks Scarletts heart but I’m not going to tell you what it is but its fab…….

This book had me hooked from the start it consumed me. Reading through I was torn with some very moving moments where it pulled at my heart and then I had some angry moments where I wanted these two to sort things out. Scarlett is the true heroine of this book and to think she has come through so much in her life and in the end it is her who puts Rhett back together. Scarlett holds the key to the happiness of them both and she doesn’t even realise it.

I give this book a well deserving 5+ stars I absolutely loved it….

Review……The Distance Between Us by Abigail Davies

distance between us

Can Kitty and Charlie close the distance between them…….

This is Book 3 in The Mac Security Series and I do think every book just keeps getting better. This book is consuming on such a high level and at no stage will you feel it boring or predictive. Kitty and Charlie’s story has been one that we have seen glimpses of throughout the series but the actual story you will not see coming……

Kitty is a member of the Mac Security team. She’s a brave, strong independent woman who lives for her job and is loyal to her work colleagues. Kitty has always kept her feelings for Charlie close to her heart never allowing the hard exterior to slip but how long can that last for anyone. When Kitty goes undercover to do a job she ends up getting shot and this is when we see Kitty really struggle, she has been taking pills to get her through the day before her injury and now we see the addict within struggle to hide her addiction from the people she loves.

Charlie is a Ty’s brother (Kitty’s Boss). He met Kitty before she even started working at the compound and they have had this “relationship” where they use each other to satisfy each others needs and don’t talk about again but this is going on ages. Charlie’s wife died and he has never really dealt with that issue and this book shows Charlie’s POV on his wife’s death and his true feelings for Kitty.

This book will draw you in at the first sentence and leave you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. It has addressed the subject of addiction and not only from the addicts POV but the man she loves. We see the daily struggles that Kitty has to endure and her lowest breaking point but can Charlie to her back together or is he too broken himself.

We read a true romantic side to this book also, two people who truely love each other and who are made for each other in more ways than they even can imagine. I felt reading it that all I wanted Kitty to do was talk to Charlie and tell him how she really felt but shes a stubborn woman and kept me hanging. We see more of the other members of the Mac Security team and get to know them a little better too.

This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotion. It left me loving this series more than I thought possible and admiring the strength and courage that Charlie and Kitty show.

I give this book a well deserving 5+ stars I absolutely love it……

Review….Playing to Win by Karen Frances

Playing to Win Ebook Cover

Will Jess and Fletcher find their happily ever after……..

With Book 1 ending with a cliffhanger and leaving us all wanting more this book give us all of that and more. This book takes us on yet another emotional ride through this couples relationship and leaves us wondering will they find their happy ending???

Fletcher Adams would move mountains to be with Jess, to protect her, take any stress away and stay right by her side for as long as she lets him. Leading his life as a high profile footballer always comes with your private life being invaded by the media and he tries to protect Jess from this as long as possible as he didn’t want them digging in to her personal life. But he reaches a time where its Jess that decides how they handle things and he does whatever makes her happy because as we see in this book Fletcher Adams is completely “pussy whipped” lol…..

Jess is slowly rebuilding her life and her business has never been better. She can’t quite put a name on how she feels about Fletcher but she knows that when shes with him she feels safe and happy. Jess’s ex-boyfriend has left her with debt and baggage that only she can deal with and we watch as she grows stronger and more confident again. In this book Jess learns to be an empowered woman again and how to leave the victim behind. This whole series shows how domestic abuse should not happen but highlights when it can happen, how it can happen and the damage that it can cause and the scars that always remain but yet again Karen Frances nailed it.

This book was the perfect ending to a fantastic series, there was nothing left unanswered. This couple healed each other, accepted each other and there faults. They dealt with ex-boyfriends, crazy blonde women who would do anything to make money, health problems, family and when all that was done they both realised that they loved each other unconditionally and as they watched the sun rise and fall they too fell more in love than ever.

This was the perfect ending I enjoyed every moment that I spent reading this series. The epilogue made my heart swoon even though time had passed between Jess and Fletcher the chemistry always remained and he adored her. Jess gave Fletcher more than he could ever have wished for in his lifetime and she sooo owned him. This couple gets their happily ever after and they totally deserve it after all they go through.

I give this book a well deserving 5 stars I loved it..

I was given an ARC for an honest review…

Review……Playing the Game by Karen Frances

Emotional, Heartbreaking and totally gripping……………

Jessica (Jess) Taylor is the heroine in this book and she is a strong successful woman who has been subjected to domestic abuse by her partner. Jess’s partner attacked her while she was pregnant resulting in her being hospitalised. Jess struggles to come to terms with what has happened and goes through some very low times in the days following her attack. Jess returns to stay with her parents after being discharged from the hospital and this is when she first meets Fletcher Adams.

Fletcher Adams is a high profile footballer who returns to Scotland to deal with his inheritance from his grandmother. Fletcher has changed to play for Scotland and has decided that a quiet life might be what he needs. He has the reputation of a womanizer and loves a good party. His life is constantly in the papers for good and bad reasons. Fletcher meets Jess’s parents when he is at his grandmother’s house and they rush out to head to the hospital after hearing of their daughters attack to find that their car wouldn’t start. Fletcher steps in and takes them to the hospital and is horrified to hear what has happened.

Fletcher’s first glance of Jess is the day she is discharged from the hospital and when he ends up carrying her to bed as she almost passes out outside her parents house. He is instantly drawn to protecting her and he hasn’t even spoke to her. In the days after she consumes his thoughts and he constantly wonders how she is.

This book covers the topic of domestic abuse and it was handled perfectly. Karen Frances wrote it in a dual POV which led to knowing how Jess was feeling and the struggles she endured daily and also with Fletcher as they both grew closer how he responded to her insecurities. These scenes left me wanting to know more they were very emotional and reading how low Jess really felt was heartbreaking.

Fletcher and Jess grew close quickly and she felt safe with him. Fletcher adored Jess and all he wanted to do was protect her. For Jess entering in to a sexual relationship with Fletcher didn’t take that long considering what she had been through but that showed the kind of connection was between them. Although this couple are perfect for each other they both have a long way to go before they can be completely together.

This book covered some very heavy topics and alot of the scenes completely tore at my heart but then they was a whole different side of it too. This book had a romantic story of two people healing each other and falling in love quite quickly. It has scorching sex scenes, swoony moments and some funny parts too.

I truly enjoyed this book and I really can’t wait to read Play to Win…..

I give this book a 4.5 stars…..

This book was absolutely hilarious Mr Sumo Abbie’s dog gets his own part of the story and you get a great insight in to the people of Dilbury Village and how they all impact on Abbie’s life.

Abbie and Miller do try the long distance relationship for a while but with each parting it gets harder and harder to say goodbye. When they finally have the talk about there relationship they both admit that they love each other but neither of them are ready to make the move across the water. There is a lingering in this part of the story because although they decide they can’t be together if none of them will make the move.  This is where we see that neither of them want to move on all they want is each other. Can these two make it work, will there come a time for each of them when all that matters is being with each other and having a life together or will they leave it till its all too late…..

This book is a light hearted girly book, it will lift your spirits and make you laugh uncontrollably. The epilogue will make your heart swoon and I love how it moves on five years and leaves us with how there lives are to be. Review……Courage to Fight by Pavan Kaur

She’s broken and he’s back, a completely captivating and heartbreaking story……..

So at the end of book one we read that Scarlett broke up with Rhett after his fight with Zach because he wouldn’t open up to her so now its the weeks after that……..

Scarlett can’t function when she feels him near and his presence blocks all her senses but he always knows what she needs. When Rhett returned from England he brought his mum with him so in this book we meet her and get a chance to see how much she wants Scarlett to be part of Rhetts life. CeCe is also in this book and has a hugh part in this book not because she is a jealous ex but she is now Rhetts WIFE……. Yes I know I could hardly believe it too but what is the story behind this marriage so many question!!!!!!

This book goes through the ups and downs of Scarlett and Rhetts relationship he does win her back in the promise to talk but as every day passes she is still further from  what haunts him. Together as a couple they have grown so much she trusts Rhett so much and always feels loved and safe when she is with him. New Release……Pucked Off by Helena Hunting is LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Profile portrait of businessman working on laptop in black suit at studio

IT’S LIVE!!!!!!!

***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***

I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance.”

I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.

Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.

I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.

At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.

I shouldn’t want her.

But I do.

I should leave her alone.

But I won’t.

Armed with my clipboard, I walk down the hall to the waiting room. Lance is impossible to miss. Despite the fact that he’s wearing a sweatshirt and the hood is covering half of his face, he’s more than six feet of broad, hockey-playing man.

He’s so wide his shoulders encroach on the chairs on either side, which would explain why no one is sitting next to him. He’s slouched down so his head rests on the back of the chair, and his hands are clasped in his lap, a baseball cap hanging off one knee. His lips, plush and soft—I know since I’ve had them on mine; it might have been a decade ago, but I remember it clearly—are parted. He looks like he’s asleep.

I clear my throat. “Lance Romero?”

He doesn’t move.

Bernadette, the receptionist, gives me a meaningful look.

I clear my throat again and call his name a second time. He jolts awake and the hood falls back, exposing his face. It’s not in good shape. He has a black eye and bruises on his left cheek. There’s a fly bandage across one eyebrow.

Sadly, he’s still hot.

He blinks a few times, yawns, and smacks his lips, his tongue touching the split in the bottom one. His gaze sweeps the room and finally lands on me. Heat explodes in my cheeks and courses through my limbs, warming me from the inside out as he starts at my sneaker-clad feet and roams up over my yoga pants to my company-issued T-shirt before stopping at my face. I can’t look directly at him for more than a couple of seconds. I sincerely hope he doesn’t remember me. I cannot go there and also be professional.

I’m sure the smile he gives me has melted many a panty off a slutty bunny. Mine stay right where they’re supposed to, wedged up my ass.

I force a polite, professional veneer. “I’m ready for you now.”

Review…..Courage to Trust by Pavan Kaur

Its sexy, dark and simply fabulous………

Scarlett Parker is a maid in a hotel in Las Vegas. Scarlett works hard to pay for her brothers education and she daily tries to fight the demons of her past. Scarlett’s parents were killed when she was five years old and she and her brother were put into foster care and this is where Scarletts life changed and made her in to the person she is today. Scarlett has never had a relationship with a man she gives them one night of hot sex and leaves but that is until the UFC fighters come to stay at the hotel and Rhett Johnson sets his sights on her and he wants more………..

Rhett Johnson is a UFC fighter. When Scarlett is assigned to cleaning his room he couldn’t take his eyes of her. He had never seen such a beautiful woman before and she had no clue who he was or what titles he held and this made her more appealing. There was an instant chemistry between them and Rhett feels a certain pull towards Scarlett. Rhett needs Scarlett and he decides this is a fight he definitely is going to win……

The hottness in this book is seriously off the charts. Scarlett and Rhett in the bedroom consume each other nothing else matters in that time. Rhett from the start wanted more with Scarlett but this is where the darkness looms in Scarlett. She has never had a relationship she is scared that when he finds out about her past that he will leave and that will break her.

Rhett works daily to gain Scarletts trust but while winning that his own demons start to surface but unlike Scarlett he can’t talk about them. Scarlett tries to get him to open up but she is running out of patients. She knows Rhett loves her and he makes her feel safe and happy but his nightmares are getting worse and he scares her. This is something Scarlett can’t have in her life she is fighting so hard to hold her own life together she can’t try and solve  Rhetts too and especially if he can’t talk to her.

Rhett has one big fight to end the season and he wants Scarlett by his side. Can she do this for him or will it all get too much? This is book one in the Fortitude Series so we will have to read book to to find out……

I loved this book it was hot as hell, edgy, dark and alot of suspense. Rhett puts Scarletts needs first he wants to protect her and would do anything to keep her safe. There are some swoony moments but this couple have a long road to go and I can’t wait to see where this goes. Scarlett and Rhett are great characters they both carry alot of baggage and reading it I was hoping they would fight them together but il have to read book two to find out…..

This was the first time I had read any of this authors work and I ahve to say I will be reading more.

Review……Park Avenue Prince by Louise Bay

Are you ready to meet Sam Shaw………….

This book is simply magnificent as Louise Bay always does she writes a book that is additive, romantic and incredibly sexy.

Sam Shaw is a wealthy businessman in Manhattan who only recently bought himself an apartment in Park Avenue. Sam worked hard for everything he had as his parents died when he was twelve and Sam had to go in to care. He decided he needed some art for his new apartment so he and a friend decided to check out an art exhibiton of a new artist at Grace Astor Fine Art Gallery. This is where Sam first met Grace Astor and the attraction was instant but Sam never got attached to women, he never wanted more with anyone. Could that change???

Grace Astor was brought up in an apartment in Park Avenue she adored her father and always wanted to meet a man that would love her like her father loved her mother. Grace’s previous boyfriends had all treated her badly and she had only broke up with her last boyfriend for cheating on her. When she met Sam Shaw at the exhibition he wasn’t the type of man she would usually go for but she did feel a certain pull between them. She knew she would have to see him again when he purchased several pieces of art from her private collection and asked her to over see the delivery.

Grace and Sam had a strong intense chemistry between them. Grace is torn for a short time with the whole he is her client saga but when she is around him she can’t think straight he body reacts when he is near and she has no control over these feelings. These two don’t restrain themselves for long but will Sam let her walk away or is there more to this….. This book had me in frenzy of OMG he let her leave and OMG why is she not answering his calls but one thing is for sure Louise Bay can write a sex scene.

Sam was developing feelings, Grace had fallen in love and with all the furniture and art shopping there were doing they forgot about the past and knew that what they were experiencing with each other felt right to them and that was all that mattered until tradegy struck and how would Sam react to this…….

This book is so full of emotion with Sam’s past and Grace not wanting to be the Park Avenue Princess she was brought up as. They are a perfect match Grace understands how Sam’s mind works and even in her darkest times she will excuse him for hurting her. I loved how this book showed Grace and Sam develop as a couple the ease and understanding they had for each other had my poor heart swooning. Grace is the perfect heroine strong, independent and loves her man fiercely and Sam worships the woman who stole his heart and helped him create his legacy……………

I give this book a well deserving 5 stars

Review……A Thousand Letters by Staci Hart

One love, one decision but a second chance will they take it…….

Elliot and Wade loved each other from the second they laid eyes on each other. Wade was going to join the army and after Elliot graduated she was going to follow him that was the plan. Wade changed his mind and wanted Elliot to come with him straight away and Elliot’s family disapproved and at seventeen that made her scared so she begged him to go back to the plan but he wouldn’t. Wade left Elliott that day broken she had no idea how she could mend herself back together she wrote him “a thousand letters” explaining that she had made a mistake but he never replied.

Now seven years later Wade must return home unexpectedly because his father is dying. Sophie Wade’s sister is Elliots bestfriend and when she received the news of her fathers illness she needed her bestfriend so Elliott being the gentle person she is put her own feelings aside and is there for her bestfriend no matter what. Wade and Elliott didn’t know how to approach each other so much had been left unsaid all those years ago but one thing it certain they still love each other but can they tell each other……

This book is a whirl of emotion its will take you on a journey of how people react differently to grief and how a love that is so strong can never end it will just be blessed with understanding and forgiveness. Wade runs hot and cold on Elliott all the time and this leaves her confused because she still loves him so much but doesn’t know if he feels the same but for every hurtful thing he says to her she can excuse his behaviour because she knows in her heart that he doesn’t mean to hurt her. Elliott is one of the most gentle people I have ever read about, she excuses the bad behaviour of her family daily and now Wade the man she loves she excuses him because of what the war did to him and now hes home he must deal with his fathers affairs and spend time with him in his last days.

I absolutely loved this book it was a true second chance romance book. It covered so many topics and the poetry quotes in it made it truely romantic and heart warming. This book will melt your heart and have you swooning all over the place from brief touches to full on kisses this book is over-flowing with chemistry. From the moment I saw the cover of this book I wanted to read it and I was definitely not disappointed. This is a book I would read again and find myself consumed by the story and that is why i give this book a well deserving 5+ stars.
