The Strongest Steel Review – Scarlett Cole

strongest steel

The Strongest Steel was a book that stayed with me and caught at my heart strings. Trent and Harper’s relationship was built on trust, understanding and friendship………

Harper Connolly is a young woman who had suffered an horrific attack by her boyfriend of two years. As a result Harper had to leave her old life behind and start a new one in fear that he would attack her again. Everyday day Harper has to look at the physical reminder of what he did as her back is covered in scars from the attack. As a way of regaining her life as a young woman again she decided to have a tattoo designed to cover her scars. Harper had heard of Trent Andrews a well known tattoo artist who specializes in inking over scars.  So this is how they’re journey began one night Harper found herself outside Trent’s tattoo studio – Second Circle Tattoo Studio……

“Can you tattoo over this??”she turned her back to him

Trent Andrews is a very well known tattoo artist and it helps that he is extremely easy on the eye. When Harper arrives at his studio at one in the morning he knew there was more to this woman in front of him and was most definitely going to help her. Trent was completely understanding about what Harper had went through and wanted her to feel at ease with him which as a reader had me completely smitten with him from the start. He was patient, understanding and kind.

“You ready to show me how amazing you are at this?”

“Always,” he said, grinning at her.

“One amazing, bad-ass tattoo coming right up.”

I loved this book I was completely hooked and found it hard to put down. Trent wasn’t your typical hero going to save the day but he was a hero with rough edges and a past of his very own. He was a constant support for Harper and helped her to get her life back again instead of only existing in the world. Trent will have you swooning………..

“Amazing at pool, amazing at tattoos, amazing at hugs.
Anything you’re not amazing at?”
“Staying away from hot chicks with bad ass tattoos.”

This book had me full of emotion I truly felt for Harper and admired her for everything that she had come through and that now she was trying to get her life back. Trent becomes very protective of Harper early on in there relationship and this helps Harper feel secure and aids her healing. Although it might seem at times in the book that all is well and they will live happily ever after but that it not the case Trent and Harper have to deal with various situation and the secrets that they keep from each other but nobody ever said love was easy……..

“You guys are like mac ‘n’ cheese.”
“Mac ‘n’ cheese?”
“Yeah,” Cujo replied.
“They both taste good on their own, you know.

But together they are the best comfort food ever”

I love love love this book can’t recommend it more really good read not predictable or boring but it is romantic, swoony, fun, sexy and then we have the tattooed Alpha male what more could we want……..

“Vincent?”
“My mom shows up,you’re naked,I have a raging hard on,
and yet you focus on my middle name?”
“I didn’t see you as a Vincent.”
