Review……Hold You Close by Corinne Michaels & Melanie Harlow

hold you close

Can Ian hold London close or will he let her go again……..

WOW!!! is about the only fitting word for this amazing book. Two fantastic authors who now have published the best book of 2018 todate it is a must read, if you haven’t read this book you are missing everything.

Ian Chase and London Parish always had one thing in common Ian’s sister and in turn London’s best friend. They always had feelings and hurt going on since they were both teenagers as Ian broke London’s heart all those years ago and she still hasn’t forgiven him but when tradegy hits they have no choice but to work together and put their differences aside. Having to spend more time together starts to bring old feeling to the surface again but can they both resist them or will love win every time…..

Writing this review I really don’t want to give too much away about this book because I was completely blown away with the emotion that was protrayed in every word and I wish every reader who picks up this book feels it too. I laughed, cryed and was angry all in one book and I really didn’t want this story to end.

As all Corinne Michaels books are laced with a very real storyline that grips us and squeezes our hearts this book was no exception and then the perfect balance of banter, sass and love to make this a perfect read. This book has two amazing characters in Ian and London but you will also meet three fantastic children that will have you crying and laughing along the way.

I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did 😉

Review…..Tru Blue by Melissa Foster

Romantic Standalone about a man who would do anything for his family and the only woman who could ever break down his wall!!!!

Trumen is a well build tattooed male who was only released from prison 6 months ago. He served a sentence for a crime he didn’t commit to protect his younger brother. He receives a distressed call from his brother to say that their mother had taken an overdose and gave him the address of the crack house. Trumen wanted to ignore the information and keep his head down and move forward with his life but loyality pulled him to his car and in to that house. The scene which Trumen witnessed took his breath away not only did he find his mother dead, his brother of his head but two small children on a dirty mattress crying to his surprise they were his siblings. True to the man he always was he wanted to protect these children so he brought them home. As Trumen bathed the children he realised he had no nappyies, clothes or food for them so he and the children head to Walmart and this is where he met Gemma…..

Gemma is a beautiful young woman full fo life and owner of the Princess Boutique. Growing up Gemma was brough up by wealthy parents who she rarely saw and she was raised mostly by nannies. Gemma resented this her whole life, all she wanted was her parents to spend time with her. Gemma’s father commited suicide when she was young instead of her mother and her becoming closer she remarried and Gemma was left to deal with her grief alone. Gemma loved children and knowing that she will never be able to carry her own child one day makes her long it even more. She believes every child should be who they want to be and always feel loved. When Gemma first sees Trumen in Walmart she was instinctly drawn to him not only because of the way he looked but the protective way he cared for the children she first thought were his own. Gemma is inquisitive or maybe noisy would be a better way to describe her but she can clearly see that Trumen doesn’t know what to buy for the children and she knows alot about children so she imposes herself on him and gradually starts to break down his walls.

Gemma and Trumen have an instant chemistry every touch every look was so intense from the every first time they spoke they had a spark. There sex scenes where explosive and then completely romantic. I loved how even before they slept together they completely consumed each other and you could see how he gradually let down the walls he had built over they years.

Gemma and Trumen are falling in to life together quite comfortably when Trumens past shows up and leaves him making decisions that could change his present blissful life. Trumen fears that he may loose the children but more than that he may loose Gemma and that scared him. Would he be able to find a way to make everything right and hold on to the best thing that ever happened to him…..

I loved this book such a great storyline. It was hard not to fall in love with all the characters in this book they all played a major part in Trumen and Gemma’s lives. They both were surrounded by a family that would do anything to help and protect them and these were people they hand picked to be in their lives.

I give this book a 4.5 stars

Review…. Say You Want Me by Corinne Michaels

Romantic, Funny, Breathtaking and Absolutely Fabulous its the must have book of 2016!!!!

Wyatt Hennington is a hot cowboy from Bell Buckle. If your read Say You’ll Stay you would have met Wyatt originally but if you didn’t here is a little background Wyatt was in love with Presley most of his life and it wasn’t mutual because she was dating his brother Zachary. But when she returned to Bell Buckle to try and repair her life Wyatt was a good friend to her and helped her get her head together and her life. This is how Wyatt met Angie.

Angie is the sister of Presley’s late Husband. When Presley moved to Bell Buckle with her twin boys Angie was completely lost without them as she loved her nephews dearly and missed her best friend. After a few visits to Bell Buckle and few encounters with Wyatt which she admitted was the best nights of her life Angie much to her surprise falls PREGNANT!!!!

Poor Angie didn’t know what to do when she learned she was pregnant and thought the best thing was to head to Bell Buckle and tell daddy Wyatt the good news which she was incredible nervous about. When Angie blurted out to Wyatt that she was pregnant he was completely surprised and asked was it definitely his but when she reassured him it was he immediately wanted her to move in with him and let him take care of her and the baby. Angie didn’t want that at first well she didn’t really know what she wanted she hadn’t come to terms with the pregnancy as the news was all new and such a surprise. When Angie and Wyatt talked properly she agreed to move to Bell Buckle for three months and live with Wyatt so that they could get to know each other as they where going to raise a child together.

“What if you realize that I’m the best man on the planet and you can’t live without me? Give this a chance.”

When Angie moved in together this is where we saw a whole new side to them both and how compatible they really were. I loved the chemistry and the banter between them. The way Wyatt wanted to look after her was heart stopping I was swooning all over the place, although Angie wasn’t sure if it was just because of the baby she could feel that there was definitely more between them.

“He’s the kind of guy I want to want me. He’s strong, sexy, caring, and so much more…Wyatt makes me feel alive. He’s excavated the parts of me I’ve buried under sarcasm and attitude, the girl who wants a man to love her. But fairytales don’t come true. People die. And I’m destined to be forgotten.”

As the weeks and months passed Angie came to settle in Bell Buckle and felt part of a family and she loved that she was so close to Presley and the boys. Wyatt wasn’t sure what was going to happen when the three months were up and he felt like the goodbye was coming so he started to become distant towards Angie and she couldn’t understand why because she planned on staying but they never had a chance to talk about it until tragedy hit them.

“You don’t know your own strength until you’re forced to face it.”

Wyatt and Angie went through an awful tragedy which would affect them both for the rest of there lives but would they be able to find a way through there pain to be together or would it all fall apart…….

Say You Want Me?!? YES…I’ll say it: I WANT YOU!!!

I loved this book it completely consumed me, yes it made me cry but it  made me laugh and swoon also. It was such a romantic down to earth book it showed how sometimes couples can be dealt an ugly card but that forgiveness is the most precious gift anyone can give.

I give this book 5+ stars get your copy today…..

Review……Malaise by Max Henry

A complete emotional and heartbreaking story with a beautiful ending. This book shows a story of two people who meet by chance at the worst time but end up being the right people for each other in every single way!!!!!!

Meg is the heroine of the book and is only seventeen years old. Two weeks before she is about to sit her final exams her brother Den is killed in an accident. Meg is devastated not only was he her brother he was her best friend. Meg isn’t like all the other girls her age she dresses differently and stands out from the norm. When Den died Meg felt completely lost her parents struggled to come to terms with his death also and instead of them pulling together as a family it pulled them apart.  Meg started to drink to numb the pain and went out and never came home but all she wanted was for her parents to support her and acknowledge her loss along with there own.

Brett is twenty four with a body to swoon over and arms laced with tattoos. He meets Meg at the end of year party were he finds her sitting alone and drunk on a log. As events of that night unfold Meg falls and burns her arms and has to be taken to hospital which he ends up doing. They both hit it off straight away Meg instantly feels comfortable around Brett and hes the only person she opens up to about her brothers death. They become friends and that’s exactly what Meg needs right now as she feels so alone.

Megs parents aren’t happy with her keeping in the company of Brett and asks her to move out this part of the book was heartbreaking and yet made me so angry. How could parents be so heartless and I kept hoping they would change there minds but there behaviour towards her and Brett did not improve it got worse.

Brett instantly became protective of Meg, he was there for her no matter what and no matter what state she was in he found a way to put her back together. Brett himself had a past and his family had a bad reputation in the town which wasn’t easy for him or his sister Tanya. There mother died of cancer and it was only them and there father who wasn’t a very nice man to say the least but Brett and Tanya were good people and they showed there kindness to Meg when she had nobody.

“As long as i’ve got you babe I’ll make sure you never stop feeling a damn thing”

This book constantly took me by surprise as I never knew what was coming next and I was completely blown away when poor Brett was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. Meg was devastated but with the little time they had together she didn’t really know much about his past to fully understand why he would be accused of this. When Meg went to visit Brett in prison it was like an emotional rollercoaster, Brett and Meg shared truths, plans and hopes with each other and although they part on strained terms they never give up on each other and this give them the strength to carry on without each other.

This book was very different from what I would usually read but it carried alot of emotion and was a fantastic read. I loved how there relationship was so important to each other. They had no money, no house and could barely eat at times but they had each other and there love seen them through the hardships.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review I give this book 4 stars I would truly recommend it.

Review…… Torn by C.J Fallowfield

All I can say it OMG C.J Fallowfield you have completely blown me away with this outstanding book. It was full of anticipation, heartache, love, loss and hope.

Skye Torres had just moved to Nevada with her parents and was due to start college. Skye was a beautiful young woman but had no interest in boys romantically but with her love of video games she had male friends. On Skyes first trip out exploring in her new town she got a flat tyre on her bike and went in to the nearest garage to see if she could get it fixed this is when she first lay eyes on Nate Hudson. He agreed to fix her tyre and sent her across to the local diner to wait and this is when he introduced her to his brother Josh and cousin Billy.

Nate Hudson was drop dead gorgeous and the oldest of the three. His father died a few years ago and he took over his role in the family of looking after everyone. His mother was an alcoholic so Nate took care of all the household bills and tried to finish college. The chemistry between Skye and him straight away was something she had never experienced before and he wanted her…..

“You look perfect to me” he purred

Josh had the looks and the brains where Billy lacked in looks he made up for in humour but there was no mistaken the fact that they both were completely taken with Skye too but who will she want.

Skye got on well with all three boys and when she started college having Billy and Josh there with her was a great support to her they were best friends but Nate was a player with the women and although he had always made his feelings clear to Skye she was scared that he would break her heart…..

The only way Skye could make a decision about which of these three was to go on a date with all of them individually but at the end Nate held her heart and Josh and Billy were crushed.

Nate and Skye were on fire when they were together instantly they were what each other needed inside and outside the bedroom. The sex scenes in the book between these two were so intense and full of want and love.

Events and situations that take place in this book that you will never see coming and they will have you reaching for the tissues. Over the course of four years you read the loss and heartache that poor Skye goes through. It’s a time where she feels alone, angry, sad and sometimes lost. It’s was a truly heartbreaking time and this emotion comes through so well in the writing of this book.

This was an absolutely amazing book that took me completely by surprise I love how C.J.Fallowfield goes through the life of her characters and you never feel cheated at the end I loved the epilogue it had swooning away.

I give this book a well deserving 5+ stars

My favourite line:

“No matter what we have been through or the scars we bear, your still mine and I’m still yours”

Review…..The King of Wall Street by Louise Bay

Will Max King get his Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happens when the boss can’t think straight around his new employee this is what happened in Max and Harper’s story.

Max King is a ruthless businessman in Wall Street. He is completely focused on his company and will not allow himself to mix business with pleasure, well that was until her couldn’t get his newest employee Harper Jayne out of his mind. Max thought her to be infuriating and distracting…..

This although was the working Max King but in his personal life he was a single dad with a fourteen year old daughter who  he adored and his life was very different.

Harper Jayne had landed a job of her dreams with King & Associates she had researched the company for years and admired the work of Max King. Unfortunately poor Harper’s opinion of Max was very different when she started working for him. She felt like he had a problem with everything she done and this was starting to upset her more.

” When I’d passed him in the office and smiled at him, the veins in his neck began to bulge and he looked as if he was going to reach out and choke me”

This lovely couple had completely got their wires crossed because Max found Harper very attractive and poor Harper thought he didn’t like her but sure this all changed when Harper moved in to her new apartment in the city. She went upstairs to ask her neighbour to keep the noise down and she came face to face to Max King shirtless. At this moment Max was no longer at work and he couldn’t restrain himself any longer it took Harper by surprise but she wouldn’t have been human if she hadn’t of noticed how attractive he was and this was the start…

“Before she had a chance to tell me again how much she hated me, I hoisted her over my shoulder and carried her into my bedroom”

Max and Harper simply couldn’t stay away from each other and things got a little more complicated when Max’s daughter asked Harper to come shopping with her and Max to get a dress for her school dance. Max’s daughter Amanda loved Harper and constantly told Max to ask her out on a date. This part of the book was fantastic has it showed a whole different side to Max.

But as always love never runs smoothly and when Max has to drop Harper from a major account at work she is devastated and what will this mean for them. Can they fix their differences before its too late and admit their true feelings for each other…..

I really enjoyed this book some major swoony moments and the chemistry that lay between this couple was fantastic to read. Although they had an unbelievable sexual chemistry they also had alot of tender moments where Harper would share her past with Max and he always seemed to be able to put her at ease if she was upset. Watching their relationship grow was the fascinating part of this book, two people who had fallen in love and now were very important in each others lives and they didn’t even know it. Louise Bay has a particular way of writing that when you start one of her books you can’t put it down and this book is no different. Max King is my newest book boyfriend and I give it a 4+ stars.

My favourite line in the book……………..

“Harper,I’ve loved you from the very moment I laid eyes on you. You are already my heart, my soul, my family – and now I want the world to know. As the King of Wall Street I need you to be my queen. Marry me”

Review……The Bossman – Vi Keeland

This book is funny, sexy, romantic and has you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. What happens when a surprise encounter leads to a relationship that is full off understanding, secrets, hot sex, witty banter and then a love that catches them both by surprise…….

Chase and Reese meet accidently when they are both on dates in the same restaurant and Reese is hiding out by the ladies because her date isn’t going so well but this is not an unusual occurs for poor Reece. Chase tells Reese exactly what he thinks about what she is doing and she is less than impressed by his remark even though he has looks to die for….

“You want to talk about snobby? You eaves-drop on my call and give me unwelcome opinions, all while staring down at your phone. You haven’t even made eye contact while we are speaking”

To finish her evening Chase decides to join Reese and her date and pretend to be an old school friend of Reese and then he proceeds to make up stories about her from when they were at school together could her evening get any worse……..

Poor Reese was unlucky in love but after that evening she couldn’t get Chase out of her mind there was something that drew her to him but she didn’t know what and she certainly never thought she would see him in the gym where her and her latest date went to work out. Poor Reese got completely flustered and then to make the whole thing worse Bryant her date had seen Chases picture on Reese’s laptop and she had told him that he was her cousin who was a model. Bryant proceeded to tell Chase this…. poor Reese let the ground swallow her up such a funny moment I was embarrassed for her reading it so funny….

“Nah. Haven’t met any of Reese’s family yet. Saw your picture on her laptop”

After that embarrassing moment they both talked and she told him that she currently was looking for a new job and he said that he could put her in touch with a good recruitment agent and they exchanged numbers but what her didn’t tell her was that the agent was employed by his business and the position was in his company omg let the fun begin……

Reese took her job seriously and made it clear to Chase that his advances would always be declined because he was her boss so this left Chase in a pickle because he couldn’t stop thinking about her she consumed his thoughts in every way. When reading the book you can sense the sexual tension between them and the fight that Reese has to go through to control her feeling.

Eventually it all gets too much and Reese gives in to it all she cant fight her feelings anymore even if she could damage her career….

” I launched myself at him, throwing my arms around his neck “I quit” he wraps his arms around my waist, and with one quick hitch, lifts me up “Its about dawn time”

Love never runs smoothly and sure where would the fun be if it did!!!

Chase has secrets that is holding him back from moving forward with Reese and until he addresses them and finds closure they cant be together. In this period in the book the hurt, love and understanding they have for each other is portrayed so well and it had a major hint of anticipation and hope.

I loved this book and would definitely give it 5 stars I have recommended to friends it was a book that I didn’t want to end there was a lot of banter and fun but it also had moments that made my heart melt and was swooning all over the place. Well Done Vi Keeland another great book……….
